“Blue economy, green economy, circular economy: partnership proposals for an urban and coastal sustainable development in the western mediterranean”
During of the 2nd World Conference on the “Revitilization of Mediterranean Diet” (Palermo, May 15-17), Italy has hosted the forum “The Two Shores”, in the framework of the 5+5 initiative (France, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain + Algeria, Lybia, Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritania).
The “Two Shores” forum, is aimed at discussing and presenting project proposals to revitalize the cooperation between the countries of the North and the South shores of the western Mediterranean.
Project proposals will be prioritized and selected in the Tunis meeting (June 11 and 12th 2019) and presented at the Conference to be held in Marseille (June, 12th 2019) , at the presence of the 5+5 countries head of states.
The Forum has been organized and coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the national Technology Cluster Blue Italian Growth and the Sicilian Fisheries District.
The theme of the Italian Forum, prepared on the basis of the Cluster BIG Strategic Plan, has focused blue economy, green economy, and circular economy.
Italy has presented the project proposal « Circular economy for food: partnership for sustainable coastal cities in Western Mediterranean».
The forum has been attended by 150 delegates and has hosted the delegations of France, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria.
